Ultrasonic Phased Array Technology For Inspection Of Semi Penetrated T-Welds

Semi penetrated T-welds defect does severe harm to the safe operation of large steel structure, but its internal defect detection is a difficulty. This article introduces the conventional UT inspection situation of semi penetrated T-weld. Analyzing the possibility of using ultrasonic phased array technology to inspect semi penetrated T-welds. According to the experimental verification, testing the result of using phased array technology to inspect semi penetrated T-welds, we can see that ultrasonic phased array technology is a very effective technique for this application; it makes this application very easy and reliable.
