Path Planning And Damage Analysis Of Laser Ablation For Melanin In Skin

Laser ablation treatment can be used to remove skin melanin. The planar shape of melanin can be divided into circular or rectangular. This paper proposes two laser ablation path planning methods for the two different melanin shapes and analyzes the thermal damage of laser ablation. First, create the ideal 3D models of the melanin in the software COMSOL, which are cylinder and cuboid. Then design circular spiral and elliptic spiral ablation paths for circular and rectangular melanin respectively, and perform ablation simulation along the given path. Finally, post-process the ablation results to analyze the damage of melanin and the false ablation of normal tissues, which can prove that the ablation path planning is feasible.
