摘要
Since the emergence of the first HIV-1/AIDS cases, the co-infection of the central nervous system (CNS) by opportunistic pathogens represents a common cause of consultation. Neurocysticercosis, a parasitic disorder that affects approximately three million people in Mexico, illustrates a parallel epidemic to that of AIDS. Exclusively, 14 cases of co-infection have been reported, being two of our country. Such epidemiological phenomenon makes us hypothesize in the mutual protection between both infections.
