Abstract
Phyllodes tumor is a rare neoplasm, fibroepithelial type, with age of onset between 35-55 years, most often palpable. 90% of these tumors are benign with a tendency of recurrence 10% and malignant in up to 40%, metastases may present up to 22% of cases. The imaging characteristics cannot distinguish its grade; even the role of MRI is still controversial. The histological diagnosis is based on the stromal component, cellular pleomorphism and mitosis. The treatment of choice is surgical resection with negative surgical margins.
