City-scale optimal location planning of Green Infrastructure using piece-wise linear interpolation and exact optimization methods

•A new hybrid approach for Green Infrastructure planning is presented.•The method consists of a surrogated drainage model and integer programming optimization.•The optimization method was demonstrated through the case study of Bogotá (Colombia).•The method rapidly builds the Pareto frontier for different area constraints.
