Ventral Hippocampal Activity During Appetitive And Approach-Avoidance Tasks

While more complex or ethologically relevant tasks are developed to increase the translational potential of animal studies, we can also employ new methods to analyze data from ‘classic’ tasks to obtain higher resolution behavioral data. Here, we discuss how behavioral tasks commonly used in depression- and anxiety-related research can be collected and analyzed in a manner that leverages recent advances in behavioral quantification tools.
