Abstract
After more than 30 years of oil and gas exploration in the Erlian Basin in China, the discovery of new depressions and oil and gas reserves has become increasingly difficult. In order to further expand the scope of exploration, in this paper, the petroleum geological characteristics of the Erlian Basin, including stratigraphic sequence, structural evolution, sedimentary characteristics, reservoir types, and trap types, have been systematically summarized. Through the study of hydrocarbon accumulation conditions, the main controlling factors and accumulation rules of hydrocarbons in each strata are clarified. The research results show that the regional structure controls the degree of hydrocarbon enrichment, the depression structure controls the oil-generating troughs and the distribution of oil-gas, the main faulted structural belt provides a channel for oil and gas accumulation, and the unconformity in the mature oil-generating layer is easy to accumulate oil and gas. At present, the Erlian Basin has discovered oil reservoirs in the western slope structural belt of Honghaoershute Sag, the southern slope structural belt of Anan Sag, the southern slope structural belt of Jiergalangtu Sag, and the southern slope structural belt of Wuliyasitai Sag. The fan-centered and (fan) delta front of the submarine fan has a high degree of hydrocarbon enrichment and is easy to obtain high production. This research can provide scientific guidance for oil and gas exploration and development in Erlian Basin.
