Abstract
Solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) have been paid more attention in recent years as a result of the ability to inhibit the growth of Li dendrites and improve thermal stability. However, the development of all solid-state lithium batteries still faces many challenges. Every type of SSE has its own disadvantages and cannot be used directly, such as low Li ionic conductivity, poor interfacial contact, weak chemical and electrochemical stability, and inferior mechanical stability. In this review, the recent advancements in solving the above problems of single-type SSEs using composite solid-state electrolytes (CSSEs) are reviewed. Further, the advanced synthesis methods of SSEs, the preparation crafts of thin CSSE membranes, and the advanced characterization techniques are also introduced. We hope that this review will provide a deep understanding and guidance for researchers in the field of CSSEs.
