Abstract
Industrial HPPO process suffers from the use of CH3OH solvent, leading to energy-intensive and lengthy purification operations. Herein, by using a microspheric TS-1 catalyst and a fluidized bed reactor, we realized a solvent-free gas-phase epoxidation of propylene, in which, 18% C3H6 conversion and 97% PO selectivity have been achieved with 73% H2O2 utilization. Furthermore, the gas-phase epoxidation proceeds with an excellent stability, attributed to use of the fluidized bed reactor.
