Abstract

•High resolution image simulation is performed on La1−xCaxMnO3 (x = 0.5, 0.3) NWs.•Stacking disorder and twinning are studied with atomic scale resolution.•In manganite NWs, VRH type T dependence is obtained due to electron localisation.•Disorder is caused due to site termination in atomic column of MnO6 octahedra.
