Revisiting the critical nitrogen dilution curve for tall fescue: A quantitative synthesis

•Tall fescue biomass and N data from 14 growth conditions were re-analyzed.•The critical N dilution curve of Lemaire & Salette (1984) was overestimated.•A critical N dilution curve for tall fescue was obtained with a Bayesian approach.•A large range of biomass and N supply is needed to fit reliable N dilution curves.
