New Host And Locality Records Of Bat Ticks (Acari: Ixodiadae) In Japan

Haemaphysalis flava was collected from the Oriental free-tailed bat Tadarida insignis (Chiroptera: Molossidae) captured in Honshu, Japan. Tadarida insignis is a new host for H. flava. The present study is the first record of ticks from T. insignis. Ixodes simplex simplex was collected from the Japanese large-footed bat Myotis macrodactylus (Chiroptera: Vespertilionidae) captured in Tsushima Island, Japan. This is a new record of I. simplex simplex in Tsushima Island.
