Mapping the stock and spatial distribution of aboveground woody biomass in the native vegetation of the Brazilian Cerrado biome

•We presented a new benchmark map of AGWB in the Cerrado for the year 2019.•We explored multi-sensor indices to predict AGWB over different vegetation types.•We compiled a unique field dataset of the vegetation from a network of researchers.•Machine learning (CART and RF algorithms) was used to map AGWB.•We improved woody biomass stocks estimates especially in savanna woodlands.
