摘要
Novel chalcogenide glasses of the pseudo-binary (100-x)Sb2S3-xPbI2 system were synthesized by traditional melt-quenching method, and its glass-forming region was determined from x = 20 to 55 mol%. Compared to traditional sulfide glasses, the long-wave infrared (LWIR) cut-off edge of Sb2S3-PbI2 glasses is extended up to 14 μm. The physical properties of these glasses, including their Tg, ΔT (= Tx − Tg), Vickers hardness, density, and Abbe number, were characterized and analyzed using their compositional dependent Raman spectra. [SbI3] structural units could promote the forming ability (ΔT) of the Sb2S3-PbI2 glasses because of the broken connectivity of the network structure. The results of this research provide useful knowledge for developing novel LWIR chalcogenide glasses.
