Parental concerns of children with ASD by age: A qualitative analysis

•Eliciting parental concerns is an important component of ASD evaluations.•An inductive qualitative coding scheme is needed to capture concerns across ages.•Parents of children in each age group have many shared concerns.•Parents of preschoolers and children in middle childhood have more mental health concerns.•Obtaining parental concerns before evaluations may expedite access to care.
