摘要

•A Fano resonance is demonstrated in the THz regime by inserting metamaterials with split ring resonator pairs (SRRPs) in a parallel plate waveguide.•The Fano resonance strength is determined by the asymmetry and period number of the SRRPs.•Thin-film sensing of a monolayer graphene film with the proposed Fano resonance metamaterials is achieved.
