The Textile Industry Supply Chain: Understanding the Arrangement and the Insertion in Administration Field

The objective of this paper was to understand the supply chain of the textile industry and, in a complementary way: i) to verify the main themes and organizational theories that are being applied in academic research, in the field of administration, about the textile industry and its supply chain; ii) point out research that deal with initiatives and strategies for socio-environmental engagement of the arrangement. A "state of the art" survey was conducted with the appreciation of 141 academic papers; 15 located on the Capes journals portal and 126 located directly on the electronic pages of journals in the "Public and Business Administration, Accounting and Tourism" area, most relevant to Capes. The analysis focused on the description of the chain, the verification of themes and organizational theories applied to understand the arrangement and the identification of socio-environmental engagement initiatives. After the analysis, it was concluded that it was possible to understand the supply chain of the textile industry and point out the most discussed organizational themes / theories in the analyzed area. The socioenvironmental initiatives in the arrangement were highlighted, but there was a significant gap for research that can involve all or part of the textile sector chain, expanding the discussion of this topic in the field of Administration.
