Abstract
•New mechanism of magnetization switching in magnetic nanosize samples has been proposed.•The switching is caused by electrostatic and spin-orbit interactions of the electrons with the radiation.•Estimation demonstrates that the switching is possible for the magnitude of electromagnetic field provided by modern lasers.
