Local distortions of surface domain walls in cylindrical microwires observed by magneto-optics

•Amorphous glass-coated microwires contain a tilted domain wall.•The domain wall inclination can be controlled by thermal annealing.•Surface domain wall pinning leads to strong distortion of a domain wall.
