摘要
In recent years, molecular targeted agents and immune checkpoint inhibitors have been used to treat various cancers in combination with cancer chemotherapy. However, a wide range of adverse events due to these agents such as immune-related adverse events (irAEs) have been reported (Vivek Kumar et al, 2017). Palliative care team members are expected to play a greater role in caring for cancer patients who were undergoing molecular targeted agents and immune checkpoint inhibitors. This study aimed to explore the learning needs of palliative care team members who care for such patients and motivation for care team member team-work. 1. Acquired the survey approval from the relevant Human Research Ethics Committee. 2. Survey items were extracted from the preceding studies (about learning needs motivation for team-work). 3. Most of the questions (Google Forms) were open-ended, allowed respondents to freely express their views and experiences on the topic. 4. Pilot study (Pharmacists and Nurses) Questionnaires were distributed to palliative care team member. 5. Study participants were selected as those who return the questionnaire. 6. Many needs obtained from the questionnaire analyses were carried out and to further interpret results and education plan. Most questionnaires were returned. Two categories of themes of interest were identified: 1. Wishing to learn more knowledge on palliative care and pharmacology of the new agents (Learning needs). 2. Wishing to learn how to provide assistance in cancer patient self-care (Case study). This result demonstrated that due to the wide range of palliative care activities regular learning interventions are needed. We will connect this needs to future major research studies. This study could be the basis for establishing a model that might improve team motivation and strengthen collaboration.
