Influence of glycaemic control and carotid intima-media thickness on leukocyte-endothelium interactions and biochemical parameters in type 2 diabetic subjects.

Background and Aims: Monitoring glycated haemoglobin levels (HbA1c%) is of vital importance in type 2 diabetic (T2D) patients. Research has shown that HbA1c% control can have a positive influence on the development of cardiovascular complications. In this work we analyse how glycaemic control in T2D patients is related to carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT), leukocyte-endothelium interactions and biochemical markers.
