Abstract
Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hiperostosis (DISH) is a disease with unknown ethiology characterised with ossifications of anterior and lateral parts of columna vertebralis. The diagnosis of DISH can be confused with ankylosing spondilitis. Our patient was suffering of neck, left shoulder and low back pain and morning stiffness more than half an hour. Because of early beginning of the symptoms, peripheral joint complaints and family history, the patient thought to be ankylosing spondilitis. After clinical, laboratory and radiological findings, the patient was decided to be DISH. In this case report, the differential diagnosis, clinical and radiologic findings of ankylosing spondilitis and DISH is discussed.
