Evaluation of the aluminum migration from metallic seals to coffee beverage after using a high-pressure coffee pod machine

•Migration of Alumnium from metallic seals to coffee drink was evaluated.•Aluminum is better extracted from high pressure machines than conventional filtration.•Concentration of aluminum is 3.5 times higher in the ground coffee after coffee drink preparation.•High pressure machine increases the Aluminum content in the coffee drink.•Coffee drink does not represent a serious risk for Aluminum intake.
