Abstract

Vast amounts of bio-molecular data have been accumulated globally along with the development of modern genomics. Biological molecules data has feature of character string. This makes the Perl language, known for a string operation, to apply widely in genomic studies. In this paper, perl language features and its application in genome DNA sequence assembly and annotation were outlined.
