Dispersing aminopolycarboxylate ionic liquids in mesoporous organic polymer for highly efficient and improved carbon capture from dilute source

•APC-ILs were dispersed in mesoporous PDVB to obtain new adsorbents for carbon capture.•Dilute CO2 was used for investigation to simulate the low content of CO2 in flue gas.•APC-IL@PDVB samples have strong ability to selectively adsorb CO2 from dilute source.•Reversibility of APC-IL@PDVB samples for CO2 adsorption is also good for long-term use.
