Educational Activities To Empower Children In Relation To Oral Health And Hygiene

the objective was to describe the process of constructing educational material and evaluate the use of health education activities as a strategy to empower children in relation to oral health and hygiene. To do so, a qualitative methodological approach was used and students from a public school, from first to fifth grade, were invited to participate in health education activities and construction of educational material. The categories "Re "construction of knowledge about health and oral hygiene and Adoption of new practices in relation to health and oral hygiene show that the activities allowed the children to experience various learnings and contributed to behavioral changes. As an innovative aspect of this research, the implementation of actions from the perspective of the child, in order to value their knowledge, experiences and opinions, contributing to give visibility and autonomy to this public so that they play the role of protagonist in their stories/lives.
