Abstract
A novel design of SF6 on-line monitoring system is presented in this paper. The system consists of three parts: a number of terminal units, a coordinator and a host computer. A Zigbee wireless network is built using the wireless network function of the chip CC2530 to collect and transmit information between the terminal units and the coordinator. Each sensing unit is controlled by a single chip CC2530 and multifunctional sensors are installed to monitor the concentration of oxygen and SF6 and the environmental parameters such as atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity. The coordinator is connected to the host computer through RS485 bus. The designed system is of low cost and test experiments show it's also reliable and efficient as expected.
