Wind turbine power performance is one of the most important processes of testing project. Collection of accurate wind speed data is a problematic element in wind turbine power performance tests. The nacelle-anemometry method describes a nacelle transfer function (NTF) to improve free stream wind speed prediction accuracy based on grey models and BP neural network using wind speed measured by a nacelle anemometer. This method presented how to use the nacelle anemometer were characterized by measuring the power curve of wind turbines, aims at the IEC 61400-12-1 request when not feasible to use. The proposed model is verified by using actual wind speed data, and the comparative analysis results are carried out through full curve and predicted curve in the actual case to prove the effectiveness of this method in power performance test.
