Progress In Functional Genomics Of Plant

Along with the continuously decryption of genomic DNA sequences of various species, life science has stepped into post-genome era i.e. functional genomics era. Functional genomics is the science of exploring gene function and expression law from the overall level of genome. The research of Plant functional genomics will help us understanding of gene function, qualitative transformation and utilization of plant traits. This plays a vital role in the development of bio-economy. This paper introduces briefly the concept of plant functional genomics, the main research methods (including the T-DNA insertion, transposon technology, gene expression analysis technology, expressed sequence tag technology, bio-chips, etc.) and other recent advances.
