Abstract
All of the commercial running Low-speed Maglev project is designed to run at a maximum speed of 100~110km/h, the system does not have any significant advantage in competition with the traditional Urban rail system. There is an urgent demand to increase the running speed of low-speed Maglev for its widely application. This paper presents a speed increasing plan by adopting 3000V DC power supply instead of original 1500V DC, under such condition, the output voltage of inverter could be doubled and maximum speed of single-sided linear induction motor (SLIM) would rise massively. An analytical model base on electromagnetic analysis is built in this paper to calculate the performance of SLIM. and the result shows that the maximum running speed could be increased to over 160 km/h.
