Abstract
In this work the results of the research into IgG and IgA gliadin antibodies (AGA), carried out on 102 patients affected by Down's Syndrome (SD), are reported. This research showed up a clear increase in the positivity for this screening (18 patients) in comparison with a control group. At the same time however the intestinal biopsy confirmed the clinical doubt of celiac disease in only 2 patients of the 11 patients examined. Both these patients however presented intestinal disorders, though slight. We therefore conclude for a clear increase in the incidence of the celiac disease in patients affected by SD and for a low screening specificity for this disease measuring out AGA.
