Abstract
Extradural or intradural arachnoid cysts seldom give rise to cord compression. Few cases have been reported in children and they mainly concern intradural cysts predominantly in the cervicothoracic region. Onset is usually characterized by motor deficit (tetraparesis, paraparesis) and pain. We describe the case of a healthy girl presenting with motor deficit due to a spinal arachnoid cyst diagnosed by MR investigation.
