Abstract
The novel Ti-doped silica gel adsorptive functional paper was prepared by treating ceramic fiber paper with sequential impregnation of water glass and acidic titanyl sulfate solution. In FTIR spectra, the peak at about 954 cm(-1) is the characteristic of Ti-O-Si bond of the Ti-doped silica gel. SEM photograph reveals that the particles of Ti-doped silica gel are well scattered on the surface and in the apertures of the ceramic fiber paper. According to the changes of S-i2p,O-1s,Ti-2p3/2 binding energy from XPS, as well as the difference of silica atom chemical shift from Si-29 MAS NMR before and after Ti-doping, it can be inferred the substitution insertion of titanium into the silica gel framework. BET analysis shows that the novel adsorptive paper possess a high BET specific surface areas above 410m(2)(.)g(-1), in which the mesopores are majority. The Ti-doping increases the specific surface area and pore volume, leading to the improvement of adsorptive capacity and thermal stability of silica gel functional paper.
