Spectroscopic And Magnetic Studies Of Some Hydrazone Schiff-Base Iron Complexes

Some iron complexes of benzylidene acetyl hydrazone (BAH), chlorobenzylidene acetyl hydrazone (CBAH) and salicylidene acetyl hydrazone (SAH) have been prepared. The samples were investigated using IR, optical absorption, Mossbauer and magnetic susceptibility techniques. IR spectra revealed that all completes are mainly in the enol form. Electronic spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements showed that iron is octahedrally coordinated and in the high spin state. All results were confirmed by Mossbauer absorption spectra.
