摘要
Introduction: The increase in seismic activity as an energy source associated with volcanic mud eruptions in Uraba (May 2017), Cartagena (June 2017) and Canalete, Cordoba (December 2017), deserved a detailed study of the dynamic behavior of El Totumo Volcano located in limits of the departments of Bolivar and Atlantico in the Caribbean region of Colombia. Objective: The objective of this work is to present the results of a Geophysical study to determine anomalies related to the dynamics of the volcano.Methodology: In this study, two Geophysical methods were applied: Geoelectric Prospection and Seismic Monitoring, in order to detect in detail the distribution of lithological materials in depth, as well as the most important structural features. All the above was achieved through the analysis of tomographies and the SPAC method (Spatial Autocorrelation), which allowed to correlate the velocities of the signals with the sedimentary strata, and to identify the structural support of the El Totumo volcano. Results: When carrying out the processing of the geophysical data, a lithological distribution was observed, characteristic of the resistivities of the subsoil. However, no anomalies or traces of seismic activity were observed at the base of the Totumo volcano. Conclusions: : There were no anomalies related to the dynamic behavior of the volcano in this period of time, it is suggested to apply the same methodology for future studies of the same phenomenon in order to generate early warnings about the risks that its activity implies in front of the inhabitants of the population. Loma de Arena (Bolivar, Colombia) and the tourist population that visits this site every day.
