Developments In Statistical Methods Applied Over Four Decades Of Research In The Tai Chimpanzee Project

I had never seen a wild chimpanzee in my life. But after many years of being involved with projects about the behaviour of wild chimpanzees I sometimes think they are so similar to us - but also so different. In my opinion, the question why a few million years ago one branch of apes began to evolve to us 'strange' humans (and the others did not) is one of the big questions of our time, and my interest in statistics is largely driven by this and other such questions about animals (and not so much by statistics per se).
