Abstract
The time synchronization mechanism is the key technology of wireless sensor networks, which is the basis of data fusion, sleep scheduling, and other applications. The existed time synchronization algorithms basically have to involve the operation of the MAC layer, which is inconvenient to the developer's application. In order to make its application more convenient under the premise of satisfying higher synchronization accuracy, this paper presents a TPSN protocol fully established at the application layer by analysis of the message transmission delay and the classic synchronization algorithm, which uses precise scheduling policy to obtain a relatively fixed transmission delay. The algorithm analysis shows that it can obtain a higher time synchronization accuracy, and is suited for the small and medium-sized, sparse networks.
