Abstract
Time and frequency transfer link is the link where the time and frequency value of a quantity is transferred and that includes the two terminals of time and frequency transfer, the path of the transfer and all the devices in-between. When the time transfer is implemented, the delays of all the facilities on this link must be measured and compensated to compare the times of two terminals. Based on thinking about the whole link calibration, a link calibration method with NIM (National Institute of Metrology, Beijing, China) self-developed traveling GPS receiver has been designed and raised, and the main time transfer links between NIM and PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Braunschweig, Germany) have been calibrated and the result for one link has been verified. The results show that the evaluated uncertainty of the method is about 2ns.
