Straight forward formulas are provided for finding the projected tension area of anchor bolt groups in masonry for most common design scenarios. The formulas include closely spaced anchor bolts with overlapping projected tension areas, and anchor bolts near an end or edge. The formulas are also easily used to determine the projected shear area of anchor bolts groups.
