Abstract
This paper analyzes a structural design of working shaft in cross river shield tunnel which is used to lay oil and natural gas pipes. Composite reinforced concrete lining is adopted to build working shafts so as to retain ground water and earth pressure during soil excavation in shafts. The safety and designed parameters of shaft structure are also dissected. Double tubed jet grouting with high pressure is utilized to treat soil beneath shaft floor and in concatenation section between shaft and shield tunnel. In order to keep the safety of pipes, specially designed pipe clamps and concrete piers are placed both on shaft inside wall and its floor respectively. The structural design of working shaft and buckling apparatus for pipes in shaft may guide the excogitation and construction of oil and natural gas pipe in cross river shield tunnel in long distance pipeline project under analogous conditions.
