Position Enhancement With Hybrid Powerline And Wireless Communications For Smart Grid

Mobile node positioning technology plays an important role in electricity information acquisition oriented hybrid communication networks, where node positioning accuracy is directly related to the robustness of the network. At the beginning of this paper, we analyze the positioning method of the hybrid communication network for smart grid communications. Then the effects of environment, such as multipath transmission and transmission attenuation of electromagnetic wave with different channels, etc, on positioning technology performance are investigated. For coping with all sorts of environmental interference, a modified electromagnetic wave transmission scheme is developed. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has higher positioning accuracy compared with the existing positioning algorithms.
