When the magnetized ferromagnetic materials are affected by the axial stress, the magnetic properties of the materials 9 such as magnetic permeability and magnetic flux etc. will be changed. Thus this mechanism can be used to detect stress state of the ferromagnetic materials with loaded. In this paper, the magnetostrictive effects and inducing mechanism of ferromagnetic materials are briefly studied, the theoretical formula on initial permeability and stress of ferromagnetic materials are put forward, a new nondestructive detective theory and technology based on the magnetic properties of ferromagnetic materials for steel structures is studied. This method is based on the general laws of magnetic properties variations when the ferromagnetic materials are loaded, that is, the functioning principle for the magneto-force coupling of ferromagnetic materials in steel building structures.
