Looking Beyond The Numbers Asian American College Students' Perceptions Of Campus Climate
NEW PERSPECTIVES ON ASIAN AMERICAN PARENTS, STUDENTS, AND TEACHER RECRUITMENT(2009)
Abstract
This exploratory study examined Asian American students' perceptions of campus climate at. a public Midwestern university. Climate perceptions, when disaggregated by ethnicity, generation, and student status, varied considerably. Findings problematize stereotypical notions of Asian American student success and adjustment as "model minorities" in higher education. Implications for higher education administrators and student affairs practitioners are discussed.
