A Qualitative Glimpse At Pharmaceutical Care Practice

This article shows a series of reasons for a greater use of qualitative methodologies in the investigation of the practice and the surrounding of the pharmaceutical attention. Even though the use of qualitative investigation methods is increasing a lot in the health field, it is still insufficient in what refers to pharmaceutical care practice. The investigation of the pharmaceutical care practice which is centered in the patient needs a more humanistic and total approach. We must affirm that the purpose to understand this practice of the pharmaceutical care practice from the patient's perspective, the pharmaceutical and other health professionals by means of qualitative measures, will to contribute to remarkably improve the evaluation of the value of the pharmaceutical care practice programs in the health system. Moreover, given the qualitative methodology allows one to reach a greater understanding of the blends that lead us to the care practice, it can also contribute to help us to do the necessary changes to create a practice of the pharmaceutical care practice making it more effective.
