摘要
The work deals with the electrically driven instability of polymeric solutions that gives rise to electrospinning from a free liquid surface. A characteristic hydrodynamic time for electrospinning onset just after a sep-like activation of an external electrostatic field is investigated and analysed both theoretically and experimentally. The polymeric solutions are considered as viscous and their dielectric constants are taken into an account. Electric current records are compared with theoretical prediction aiming to a deep analysis of dynamic phenomena during the earliest stages of electrospinning. Results of the work contribute to deeper understanding of polymeric solutions spin-ability using electrospinning.
