摘要
Recent urbanization processes of regional scope in the central macro-region of Chile have put a strain on both theoric debates and operational scales where said processes around the ''urban'' can be understood. In an effort to contribute to this discussion, a diachronic debate on daily mobility metropolitan patterns of economically active population is proposed. The aim of this exercise is to understand the relation among metropolitan subsystems, from a functional urban proposal and from the special processing of the two last population census. Results will evidence a low functional intgration of the systems in the central region, where two simultaneous processes would be taking place: on the one hand, an increase in the centripetal influence of the metropolis of Santiago on the macro-region; and on the other hand, the consolidation of two independent subsystems related to the interrelation and dynamism of the functional areas of Los Andes-San Felipe and Valparaiso-Quillota-Calera. These findings will contribute both to the conceptual and operational debate around urbanization processes of regional scope in the central macro-region of Chile.
