Abstract
The water distribution network is a system which transports water to each final user and according to their uses. The infrastructure required for reaching this objective requieres a significant economic investment, therefore providing the optimal design of these networks is very relevant. Not only the economic aspect is essential but also there are other aspects such as hydraulic performance referred to presures and minimum speeds, the availability of pipes, the water quality, the distribution of demand, the network reliability, system operation,, which make difficult do an integral analysis which leads to an optimal design. To get a set of optimal solutions, it was developed a computer program called MAGMOREDES which is based on the use of Micro multiobjective solution to the problem of water network optimization is a problem called combinatorial NP-DURO, Which means that it is not posible to use a deterministic method to solve it, the solution requieres special methodologies with a reasonable computing process time that allow for getting a diameter configuration whcih satisfy the restrictions (such as speed and pressure), and also to get acceptable values in the objectives looked for, such as (low cost and high reliability). The use of genetic algorithms allows for solving these kinds of combinatorial problems NP-DURO, getting the optimization of a water genetic algorithm, proposed by Toscano y Coello (2001), adaptanding to the aplication of water distribution networks, which seek to fulfill not only with economical restriction given but also with the peruvian regulations, presures and limit speed. The computer program has been developed in JAVA programming language. The efectiveness of the algorithm developed was checked in the Hanoi (Fujiwara y Khang) Network. This is a network which has one source, consisted of three basic circuits, thirty nodes, a reservoir, thirty four tubes. The nodes are located at the same elevation and are not considered minor losses in pipes.
