A Study On The Effect Of The Sound Package Coverage To The Transmission Loss Using Sea

Sound package treatments are usually used to improve the sound insulation and sound absorption of vehicle plates. Different coverage of the sound package on a plate makes the plate transmission loss (TL) different. In this paper, we firstly analyze the transmission loss of a simple plate with sound package in different coverage by using both SEA model and hybrid FE-SEA model. Then the sound package which is modeled by noise control treatment (NCT) or multiple-NCT (MNCT) is used on the plate, which generates different TLs when the NCT coverage or MNCT coverage is different. The TL of the plate in different coverage can be calculated based on the average TL for the composite wall. The SEA simulation result has also been verified. Finally, theoretical analysis of the coverage's effect on the TL is performed for the further explanation.
