Abstract
This is a case report of a 33 years old woman, with a 38 weeks pregnancy, with no pathological history, that gave birth to a living infant. One hour postpartum, she complained of right shoulder pain, dyspnea, orthopnea, blood pressure measurement revealed a 220/110mmHg value. In dynamics, the laboratory tests showed thrombocytopenia and hepatocitolysis, an abdominal ultrasound exam and a CT scan were conducted, confirming the subcapsular hepatic hematoma associated with HELLP syndrome diagnosis. According the literature data, the expectant management represents the best treatment for hemodynamically stable patients, and this was our exact management of the case. The association of these two pathological entities is rare, but it should be suspected in any eloquent clinical context.
