Abstract
The intramolecular photochemical interaction of a series of bis-coumarinyl compounds with various alkyl chain lengths (A(n)) has been studied in/without the presence of beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) by fluorescence spectroscopy. The results show that both photodimerization and excimer formation can occur in the respective favourable microenvironments.
